Christian Lacoste left us ...
The world of bowls, all disciplines combined, is in mourning: it has just lost Christian Lacoste, a prominent personality in our sport, taken away by a cancer against which he fought with all the willpower whom we all know how strong it was. Coming from the world of Lyonnaise where he was successively National Coach then National Technical Director, he succeeded Alphonse Lagier-Bruno at the head of the FIB in 2009. He held this position in an exemplary voluntary manner until the end of his second mandate in 2017, leaving it because he felt that his health no longer allowed him to occupy it with all the energy he would have to devote to it...
Intellectual honesty is one of the great qualities of Christian who knew how to manifest it in all his functions, whether they were voluntary or professional, both in the sports movement and within the services of the municipality of Mâcon, city who was so dear to her heart. It was there that he organized, on the banks of the Saône, an exceptional event bringing together demonstrations of four bowling disciplines. To this must be added an exemplary probity and disinterestedness which went hand in hand with an unwavering will, a righteousness that nothing wavered and a total commitment in what he undertook.
Yes Christian will have been a great gentleman of the world of bowls where he will leave only good memories and regrets.
