Contrary to the numerous false reports regularly circulating on social media, no changes to the rules of the game have been decided for 2026. The International Federation of Petanque and Provençal Games (FIPJP) is the only body authorised to amend the rules of Petanque & Provençal Games. Qualifying tournament for the 2026 World Cup
The Luxembourg Boules and Pétanque Federation, in collaboration with the International Pétanque and Provençal Game Federation, is organising a qualifying tournament for European countries that have not automatically qualified for the World Championship in Malaysia.
