While all north territories of Iran were snowing, the beautiful and nostalgic City of Bridges (Ahwaz) with a cool climate was host of the elite players from all over of the country at the beginning weeks the 15th anniversary of the IPBA establishment who competed at the biggest event in the history of these sport disciplines in the south of Iran in nine competitive categories organized in six days in one of the most well-known international sports complexes in the southwest of Iran.
Dr. Jasem Manouchehri Founder and President of the IPBA, Executive Board Member of the ABSC and Director General for Developing Petanque in the West and Central Asia Zone, said.
“Opening of the Petanque and Bowls Center in the Shahid Ghorbani International Sports Complex and the association's investment in equipping this center is in favor of implementation of our development strategies and as the chair of the organizing committee of this event, I must thank the support of the sport authority of Khouzestan province which played a great role in holding these magnificent competitions. In addition to the technical improvement of the athletes, I witnessed two important events in Ahwaz:
- The wide distribution of medals among the participating provinces and even the first medals won for some provinces were unprecedented,
- The announcement of the readiness of 7 provinces during the general assembly to host the 16th national championships is a proof of the dynamism and the desired level of motivation of our provincial directors, which should be appreciated.”
